Family medicine provides curative, preventive, and end-of-life care both in the hospital and at home in the community. They work in collaboration with the specialists for specific interventions if needed. They also supervise and are responsible for the well-being of health in the community. The family physician screens them during the early stages of the disease and educates the patient on healthy choices before the disease further progresses, thus motivating the individual to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The department has also been accredited by the National Board of Examination, New Delhi to conduct the Post Graduate program for DNB Family Medicine.
