The Department of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at CIHSR is committed to advancing both reconstructive and aesthetic outcomes through innovative, minimally invasive techniques. Key areas of expertise include:

Laser lipolysis using the advanced neoV 1470 nm diode laser for targeted body contouring; Laser venous ablation for the effective treatment of varicose veins and venous insufficiency
Flap reconstructions for face, breast, severe burn contractures of neck,upper limbs

The department proudly hosts the Smile Train Centre at CIHSR, the officially designated facility for cleft lip and palate care in Nagaland. As part of a global network, the centre delivers comprehensive, high-quality, and compassionate cleft treatment—restoring smiles and transforming lives for children and families in need

The Department of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) is led by senior consultants Dr. Bona Lotha and Dr. Temsula Alinger, both of whom bring a wealth of expertise and international experience to the field. Special thanks to our lifetime mentor John B Mulliken Children’s MA, Chang Gung Craniofacial Aesthetic Plastic Taipei and several tertiary plastic craniofacial centres of Singapore( NUH, Mount E, KKH, Aesthetic and Laser centres)

Together, they lead a department dedicated to delivering compassionate, state-of-the-art care in both aesthetic medicine and reconstructive plastic surgery, with a special focus on craniofacial clefts, facial aesthetic and other recon, with equitable access for underserved communities.
